Hannah Lee was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 2012 she recieved her BFA in painting from Baylor University under the instruction of Karl Umlauf. She also spent time studying at both Columbia Universitiy and The Art Students League of New York. She is now based out of Austin, TX.
Hannah's personal work stems from a narrative impulse, capturing fragments of life that are sometimes forgotten and showing reference to the fleeting moments we often overlook. Her influences vary stylistically and are broad conceptually. Her fascination with "Outsider Art" has led her to a passion and joy for painting with and learning from those with developmental dissabilities. Over the past several years she has consistently worked to help these talented artists express themselves through painting and drawing.
Hannah regularly paints live at weddings and other events throughout the south. Updates on Hannah's work and her daily inspiration can be followed on Facebook and Instagram. Enjoy!
